I don’t know about you, but I like kitchen appliances that can multitask. If I’m going to spend the money and the countertop space on a new appliance, I want it to do more than one thing.
Like having an air fryer with rotisserie function. Now we’re talking.
I liked the Instant Vortex Plus Air Fryer best because it consistently performed well with a wide range of foods. Its size is great for most people, while not being too large to put on the kitchen counter.
But there are a lot of things to think about. Do you need to feed a large family or crowds? Do you want to air fry a certain type of food? Do you want a pizza rack or a toaster oven combo? All of those considerations go into choosing the right air fryer.
For that reason, I’ve gone through the best airy fryers with rotisserie and broken down the pros and cons. Let’s take a quick look at my list of rotisserie air fryers:

Best Air Fryer with Rotisserie Roundup: The Reviews
Instant Vortex Plus: Best Air Fryer with Rotisserie Overall
From the makers of Instant Pot comes this 10-quart (9.4 liters) air fryer. The Vortex Plus air fryer can handle up to 2 pounds (.9 kg) of french fries or a 4-pound (1.8 kg) whole chicken. You can easily make enough food to feed 5-7 people with this air fryer.
This Instant model comes with several accessories, including a rotisserie spit and forks, basket, rotisserie lift, two oven racks, and a non-stick drip tray.
It also comes with 7 preset cooking functions: bake, broil, airy fry, roast, toast, dehydrate, and rotisserie.
Users loved how well the Instant Vortex Plus air fryer performed cooking all types of food. From rotisserie chicken and wings to hash browns and fries, this air fryer has rave reviews.
Need recipes? Don’t expect a recipe book to come with your Instant Vortex air fryer. You can, however, find over 1000 official recipes on the Instant Pot website. That many recipes might be overwhelming, however, so I recommend visiting shorter posts like this one from Eat with Carmen to get you started.
This appliance is pretty easy to clean. Many customers recommended lining the drip tray with aluminum foil to catch any oil or drippings and avoid smoke. And since the air fryer tray itself is nonstick, cleanup is fairly simple.
If you are looking for something a bit more fancy, there is also the Instant Vortex Plus with 9 functions. In addition to the Vortex programs, it also adds a reheat and proofing function. Yet I think the 7-function Instant Vortex air fryer will do everything I need it do. I don’t need an appliance for proofing bread dough, just a warm spot and a good proofing box.
One of the biggest complaints for this air fryer? A burning plastic smell during the first use. But don’t let that worry you. Here’s why:
That plastic smell is typical, even for the best rotisserie air fryers. The manufacturer recommends washing the air fryer and all accessories before the first use to minimize any odors.
Then you should let the air fryer run through a cycle to burn off the smell. If you just can’t stand it, you can always run the first cycle outside to dissipate any unwanted smells.
- Good capacity, can handle a lot of food
- Easy to use and easy to clean
- Performs well for variety of foods
- Solid rotisserie accessories
- No recipe book included
- Plastic smell on first use

Best Choice Products 10-in-1 Air Fryer: Best Large Capacity Air Fryer with Rotisserie
This Best Choice Air Fryer is the largest one on the list, with a capacity of 16.9 quarts (16 liters). You will definitely need some counter space, both upward and outward, to accommodate its size.
This fryer can handle a whole rotisserie chicken, multiple Cornish game hens, pork tenderloin, and 10 kebabs. You can easily feed a family of 6-8 with this fryer.
This air fryer has glowing customer reviews, both for air frying and for rotisserie. With its large size, many users commented on how little they’ve used their conventional ovens after buying this appliance.
One feature I liked? Unlike most models, this one comes in three attractive color options: black, white, and red.
The Best Choice Products Air Fryer has 10 preset cooking controls. It also includes nine recipes for dishes like spicy fries, spicy shrimp, corn on the cob, pork chops, lamb chops, kebabs, fried squid, chicken wings, and chicken nuggets.
The air fryer comes with a variety of accessories, including: 3 wire racks, mesh basket, skewer rotisserie, rotisserie forks, rotating basket, retrieval tool, drip pan, oven mitt, and tongs. You’ll have no shortage of tools to help you air fry and rotisserie a variety of food.
While this air fyrer has great rotisserie reviews overall, there were some reports of the rotation not working properly after a while. The durability of the rotation piece might be a consideration. This air fryer is sometimes unavailable, too, which can be inconvenient if you’re ready to purchase one.
- Includes lots of rotisserie accessories
- Comes in three color options: black, white, & red
- Performs well
- Takes up a lot of counter space
- Some reports of rotation function not working
Chefman Digital Air Fryer: Best Small Capacity Rotisserie Air Fryer
One of the smaller air fryers on the list, this Chefman air fryer has a capacity of 6.3 quarts (6 liters). This air fryer oven can handle two personal pizzas or a small bird (4 pounds or less).
The Chefman air fryer comes with eight digital touch screen preset functions (chicken, meat, fish, shrimp, fries, rotisserie, dehydrate, and bake).
It also comes with several accessories, including a rotating basket and rotisserie retrieval tool, two air flow racks, a drip tray, and a rotisserie spit.
Customers raved about how this Chefman air fryer performs, especially with french fries. They loved how crispy and golden their fries came out with the Chefman air fryer.
One complaint? The air fryer can be difficult to clean. There were reports of crumbs getting stuck inside the glass door and door hinges. And unlike many air fryers, this one’s door doesn’t come off without tools.
These factors make the air fryer even more difficult to clean. However, several people lined the bottom tray with foil to make cleanup easier. If you just can’t stand the idea of extra cleanup time, I’d go with another model.
One note for the Chefman air fryer: I would not recommend this model for beginners. There is no recipe book included. Many customers wish they had a recipe book to go with the appliance.
If you’ve used air fryers previously, however, you won’t have the same learning curve using an air fryer as a novice.
- Good for french fries
- Smaller capacity
- No recipe book included; learning curve
- Difficult to clean
PowerXL Air Fryer Pro: Best for Steaks & Chicken
This 6-quart (5.7 liters) Power Air Fryer is the smallest model on our list. This air fryer has seven digital preset cooking functions: air fry, reheat, rotisserie, dehydrate, toast, roast, and pizza grill.
You can cook up to a 4 lb. chicken (1.8 kg), four salmon steaks, or 15 to 20 chicken wings. This size air fryer can handle enough food to feed a family of three to four.
The Power Air Fryer comes with 10 stainless steel skewers for kebabs, a rotating basket, rotisserie spit, three air flow racks, and an oil drip tray. It also includes three air fryer recipe books.
Customers consistently gushed over this air fryer’s ability to cook steak. They also like their results with fried chicken and kebabs.
The pre set cooking functions make this air fryer easy to use. Simply press the button and let it cook. If you like the “set it and forget it” method, this option is for you.
The only drawback? Some users said the time settings were off. Be prepared for some trial and error to determine the right cooking times.
Also, there were several reports of the glass door shattering and the unit malfunctioning. The customer service did not get glowing reviews, either. The Power XL Air Fryer does have limited availability, so you might not always be able to find it via Amazon.
While the Power Air Fryer ticks a lot of boxes, it might be a riskier option for those reasons. Still, if you want to fry steaks to your heart’s content, the PowerXL Air Fryer is a good option.
- Good for steak and chicken
- Pre set icons, easy to use
- Easy to clean
- Reports of malfunctioning and shattered glass door
- Complaints of poor customer service
- Smaller capacity
GoWise USA Deluxe: Best Rotisserie Option
The GoWise USA Deluxe air fryer is a 15-in-1 multi-cooker. It has a capacity of 12.7 quarts (12 liters), which is large enough to air fry a 5 lb. chicken (2.26 kg), an 8″ (20.3 cm) round pizza or cake, or 1.5 lb. (.68 kg) of french fries.
When it comes to accessories, this air fryer is overflowing with them.
So what is included? Rotisserie rod and forks, a rotisserie cage, skewer rotisserie, air fryer basket, 2 cooking trays, a rotisserie steak cage, oven rack, rotisserie tongs, and drip tray.
That many accessories are great for cooking different types of food. Just keep in mind the cabinet space necessary to store all those extra pieces.
This air fryer has easy-to-use digital controls with 15 cooking presets. These settings are similar to what you find on a microwave menu.
You have functions for certain types of foods like steak, pizza, chicken, fries, and frozen food. But you also have separate cooking controls for baking, dehydrating, rotisserie, defrosting, toasting, and a manual option.
Having that many presets is great for options, but it can be confusing to figure out the right timing and temperature. In fact, some users complained about having to press a lot of buttons just to start cooking.
This air fryer with rotisserie comes with a 1-year warranty, which gives buyers a peace of mind.
- Larger capacity
- Includes a lot of rotisserie accessories
- Includes a recipe book
- Slightly more expensive
- Not quite as user-friendly
Best Air Fryer with Rotisserie: What You Need to Know Before Buying
What are the advantages of using an air fryer?
With all of the kitchen appliances on the market, what advantage does an air fryer oven really give you? There are several!
Using an air fryer allows you to cook delicious food with little to no oil, lowering the calories and fat content of fried foods. It’s definitely a healthier alternative to deep frying.
Here’s how it works: Air fryers use heating elements and a high-powered fan to cook food. This circulating heat speeds up the cooking process while ensuring a crispy fried finish. The heating technology works much like a miniature convection oven.
Basically, you get fried-tasting foods, with fewer calories, in less time. I call that a win.
Another plus? Air fryers uses less electricity than a conventional oven. (Hurray for saving money on the electric bill!)
If you live in a warm climate, the last thing you want is to make your kitchen even hotter. It can easily hit 100°F (38°C) in the summers where I live, so we don’t use the traditional oven unless we have to. Using an air fryer means you don’t have to heat up your entire kitchen to cook dinner.
Lastly, an air fryer oven is great for reheating leftover or frozen food. If you’ve ever had to choke down soggy, day-two pizza from a microwave, you understand the struggle!
Using an air fryer is great for getting that crispy texture, even when reheating or cooking frozen foods. It’s the only appliance I’ll use to reheat pizza.
With an air fryer, my children can have crispy mozzarella sticks for lunch, instead of yet another smushed peanut butter and jelly sandwich. They think they’re getting a treat, and I feel like mom of the year. It’s great.
Yet air fryers don’t automatically make food healthy. There are more choices to make, and healthy substitutions are key. If you want to cook french fries, for example, consider sweet potato fries instead. You can’t air fry french fries and magically make them healthy!
What’s the difference between an air fryer, an air fryer oven and an air fryer toaster oven?
All air fryers use the same process of circulating heat to cook food with less oil. So why are some air fryers called ovens?
The reason is due to a difference in their construction. The first-generation air fryers had a basket where you place the food to cook it. Many models still have the same makeup and construction, and they work wonderfully.
On the other hand, an air fryer oven (also called an air fryer toaster oven) has racks or shelves for cooking food. In this way, the air fryer oven more closely resembles a conventional oven. Some fryers even have a basket with a rack insert. This isn’t as common, though.
You will see the term “air fryer” and “air fryer oven” referring interchangeably both the basket style and shelf style fryers. But knowing the difference will help you choose the right air fryer for you.
If you want to rotisserie, you want to look for a shelf-style air fryer oven. You can remove the shelves to make space for the rotisserie rod and food.
What size air fryer with rotisserie should I buy?
Air fryers with a rotisserie function come in a variety of sizes. You want to know the maximum capacity of your unit to determine whether it will meet your cooking needs. It’s important to note that the capacity is usually listed in volume, but that might not give you a complete picture.
Most manufacturers list a maximum capacity for the rotisserie rod. A whole, 4-pound (1.8 kg) chicken, for instance, will feed 4-6 people. The same goes for a pound of french fries. For Cornish game hens, you should approximate 1 pound per person.
If you plan to frequently rotisserie whole birds, look for a fryer with rotisserie that can handle at least a 3-4 pound bird. You don’t want your chicken dragging along the bottom of the appliance.
You also don’t want to overload the rotisserie rod or basket with too much weight. This could cause the accessories to break or the rod to stop rotating properly. This is pretty consistent, regardless of the air fryer model. Better go small than go broke… literally.
When in doubt, approximate 1.5 quarts (1.4 liters) for each person. So, a 10-quart fryer (9.4 liters) will feed, on average, 5-7 people.
Of course, you should also consider your counter and storage space. Some of these rotisserie air fryers are quite large, so be sure to note the dimensions before purchasing.
What accessories should I look for in an air fryer rotisserie oven?
The best accessories really depend on how you plan to use your air fryer. If you want to air fry french fries, you’ll want a mesh basket for rotating the fries. The mesh air fryer basket is also a good option for air frying wings.
If you plan to rotisserie, you’ll want specific accessories for that. Look for a rotisserie spit and forks to help hold the food in place. A skewer rotisserie is also good for holding kebabs.
Of course, an oven rack is handy for most types of food, including veggies, sandwiches, chicken breasts, and steaks. Many fryers include multiple wire racks to maximize how much food you can cook at one time. After all, the fewer batches, the better!
An air fryer rotisserie basket will turn as the air fryer rotisserie heats, tumbling food as it cooks. A rotating basket can be useful for medium-sized food that is fairly robust like vegetables or ribs.
One thing to note: a lot of these accessories might have different names, depending on the brand. A rotisserie basket might be called a rotating basket by another manufacturer. An oven rack might also be called an air flow rack.
In these cases, the manufacturer is including the same tool. They’re just calling them by different names. Look at the photos to see exactly what tools you are getting with your air fryer.
You also should consider storage and cleanup. If you don’t have a lot of storage space, you may want to avoid an air fryer that has 20 accessories.
The same goes for cleanup. If you don’t want to spend a lot of time cleaning, look for dishwasher safe accessories.
Best Air Fryer with Rotisserie: What’s the Verdict?
When it comes down to it? If you want the best bang for your buck, I would recommend the Instant Vortex Plus. This is one of the best air fryers in terms of performance. It’s also large enough for most people’s cooking needs.
If you want a comparable quality air fryer in a larger size, I would go with the Best Choice 10-in-1. It has plenty of room for making large batches.
