Is GreenPan cookware oven-safe? The short answer is yes. The maximum oven temperature varies by collection anywhere from 320°-600°F (160°-315°C).

The set I recommend (GreenPan Valencia Pro) is oven safe to 600°F (315°C) without lids, and 425°F (220°C) with lids.

GreenPan is a popular brand of cookware that touts its environmentally-friendly, non-toxic pots and pans. GreenPan pans feature a ceramic nonstick coating that releases food and cleans up easily.

But if you’re like me, you prefer cookware that can go from stovetop to oven. While GreenPan pots and pans can generally handle oven use, the exact temperatures vary among the different lines.

In this guide, I’ve broken down the oven-safe temperatures for several of GreenPan’s cookware collections. I’ve also answered some frequently asked questions about GreenPan cookware.

Is GreenPan Cookware Oven-Safe? Product Reviews

GreenPan Valencia: Best Overall

  • Construction: Hard-Anodized Aluminum
  • Oven-Safe Temperature: 600°F (315°C)
  • Broiler-Safe? Yes
  • Induction-Compatible? Yes
GreenPan Valencia Pro Hard Anodized Healthy Ceramic Nonstick 11 Piece Cookware Pots and Pans Set, PFAS-Free, Induction, Dishwasher Safe, Oven Safe, Gray

The GreenPan Valencia Pro Collection is one of GreenPan’s best-selling cookware sets, and it’s not hard to see why. This cookware features hard-anodized aluminum construction that’s induction-compatible and oven-safe to 600°F (315°C).

The glass lids can go in the oven up to 425°F (220°C), as well. GreenPan even claims this set is safe for metal utensils, although I recommend sticking to wooden or silicone tools.

This particular set includes three frying pans, two saucepans with lids, a 3-quart (2.84 liters) sauté pan with lid, and a 5-quart casserole (4.7 liters) with lid.

The GreenPan Valencia Pro set received excellent customer feedback. They loved the fast and even heating, as well as the food release and easy cleaning.

While a few did have issues with chipping, most were impressed with the durability of the ceramic coating.

To get the most out of your GreenPan Valencia Pro cookware, I recommend low to medium heat for stovetop use. You might diminish the pan’s non-stick properties if you overheat it.

It’s best to wash these pans by hand, although you can technically put them in the dishwasher.

GreenPan Lima: Best Value

  • Construction: Hard-Anodized Aluminum
  • Oven-Safe Temperature: 600°F (315°C)
  • Broiler-Safe? Yes
  • Induction-Compatible? No
GreenPan Lima Hard Anodized Healthy Ceramic Nonstick 12 Piece Cookware Pots and Pans Set, PFAS-Free, Oven Safe, Gray

If you’re searching for the best value, I’d go with the GreenPan Lima Collection. This cookware isn’t quite at the level of the Valencia Pro, but it’s more affordable and still has a lot to offer.

Like the Valencia Pro pans, the GreenPan Lima pans are made of hard-anodized aluminum. They’re oven-safe and broiler-safe to 600°F (315°C), and they have glass lids that can go in the oven up to 425°F (220°C).

The major differences between the two collections are durability and stovetop compatibility. The GreenPan Lima Collection is compatible with all stovetops except induction. And they aren’t safe for the dishwasher or metal utensils.

You’ll have to baby this set a little more, which is the biggest drawback. However, if you’re willing to put in a small amount of extra effort, these GreenPan pans should last a long time.

They’re also significantly cheaper, so you can save some precious cash in the process.

This set includes a covered saucepan, a covered casserole, two frying pans, a covered skillet, a stainless steel steamer, and three bamboo cooking utensils.

GreenPan Chatham: Best for Oven Use

  • Construction: Hard-Anodized Aluminum
  • Oven-Safe Temperature: 600°F (315°C)
  • Broiler-Safe? Yes
  • Induction-Compatible? No
GreenPan Chatham Hard Anodized Healthy Ceramic Nonstick 10 Piece Cookware Pots and Pans Set, Frying Pan Skillets, Saucepans, Saute Pan, Stockpot, Lids, PFAS-Free, Dishwasher Safe, Oven Safe, Gray

The GreenPan Chatham Collection is one of my top picks for oven use, but this line performs well on the stove, too.

The Chatham cookware set comes with two saucepans with lids, two frying pans, a covered sauté pan, and a covered casserole.

These pans are oven-safe and broiler-safe for temperatures up to 600°F (315°C), and the glass lids can handle a temperature of 425°F (220°C).

These GreenPan pots feature hard-anodized construction like the other sets, but the Thermolon ceramic nonstick coating is infused with diamonds for extra durability and better heating.

Diamond is actually a better heat conductor than copper (about five times more conductive), so this helps the Chatham pans heat more quickly and evenly.

Even though you can use metal utensils on these pans, I wouldn’t recommend it. Several customers experienced scratches and/or chips.

The non-stick coating will also perform better on a lower heat setting. It’s also wise to avoid cooking sprays. Stick to fats like butter or oils with a high smoke point.

When you’re done cooking, clean up is easy. Simply wipe clean with dish soap, warm water, and a soft cloth.

GreenPan SearSmart: Best for Searing

  • Construction: Hard-Anodized Aluminum
  • Oven-Safe Temperature: 600°F (315°C)
  • Broiler-Safe? Yes
  • Induction-Compatible? No

The GreenPan SearSmart is fantastic for searing and browning meats. The interior has the same Thermolon coating, but it’s made specifically for easy-release searing.

Like some of the other collections, this SearSmart set includes two covered saucepans, two open frying pans, a covered sauté pan, and a covered casserole.

The pans heat and cook as expected. You can get a nice sear, which is great for cooking steak or other meats. And the textured surface has a nice browning effect.

However, some customers have had issues with the pans not being level and having oil and eggs run to the edges, rather than stay in the center.

To prevent warping, it’s best to cook at a lower heat setting. Overheating the pan will exacerbate any warping. It’s also best to use wooden or silicone tools to avoid scratches in the coating.

While you can put these pots in the dishwasher, I recommend hand washing with soap and warm water. The harsh detergents and high heat could damage the non-stick layer.

GreenPan Reserve: Best For Stovetop Cooking

  • Construction: Hard-Anodized Aluminum
  • Oven-Safe Temperature: 600°F (315°C)
  • Broiler-Safe? Yes
  • Induction-Compatible? No
GreenPan Reserve Hard Anodized Healthy Ceramic Nonstick 10 Piece Cookware Pots and Pans Set, Gold Handle, PFAS-Free, Dishwasher Safe, Oven Safe, Black

If you value beauty when looking for cookware, this GreenPan Reserve Collection is right up your alley. This collection comes in a variety of gorgeous colors, so your pots and pans will look elegant and customized to your kitchen.

Each pan has the same hard-anodized aluminum construction and non-stick coating but with sleek, gold-tone stainless steel handles.

These pans can go in the oven and under the broiler for temperatures up to 600°F (315°C), while the tempered glass lids can withstand temperatures up to 425°F (220°C).

Each GreenPan Reserve pan has a diamond-reinforced Thermolon cooking surface, so your food will cook faster and more evenly. As always, this GreenPan cookware is free of lead, cadmium, and PFAS for non-toxic cooking.

Customers found these pans to be lovely. Several did say the surface scratched easily. I recommend extra caution and hand washing to help avoid chips or other damage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a GreenPan Go in the Oven?

Yes, GreenPan cookware is oven-safe, but there are certain safety precautions you should take before putting your pan in the oven.

First, check the chart above to see the maximum oven-safe temperature for your GreenPan collection. Not all collections can handle the same level of heat.

Most GreenPan lids can go up to 425°F (220°C), but some can only go up to 350°F (180°C). Check the product description to see which lid your GreenPan has.

Lastly, after removing your GreenPan from the oven, let the pan cool completely before cleaning. Running a hot pan under cold water could cause thermal shock and warp the pan.

Are GreenPan Lids Oven-Safe?

Yes. GreenPan glass lids are oven-safe, although the exact temperature varies by collection.

Most GreenPan collections have a universal tempered glass lid with a maximum oven-safe temperature of 425°F (220°C).

Other glass lids are oven-safe up to 350°F (180°C). The Levels Stackable pans come with these lids.

One exception is the Paris Pro collection, which includes stainless steel lids that are oven-safe up to 600°F (315°C).

Is GreenPan Cookware Broiler-Safe?

If a GreenPan is oven-safe to 600°F (315°C), it’s also broiler-safe. The following collections are broiler-safe: Valencia, Venice Pro, Venice Pro Noir, Lima, Reserve, Paris Pro, Chatham (including SS and Black), SearSmart, Padova, Swift, and Treviso.

Is GreenPan Cookware Dishwasher-Safe?

Most GreenPan cookware lines are dishwasher-safe. However, your pans will last longer with hand washing.

If you decide to clean your GreenPan in the dishwasher, avoid contact with other dishes, especially those made of metal.

How to Clean GreenPan Cookware

GreenPan’s ceramic coating is designed to release food easily. After removing food from the pan, let it cool completely before washing. Then wipe the pan clean with a non-abrasive dish cloth and soapy water.

For stubborn stains or stuck-on food, sprinkle baking soda on the damp pan and let it sit for a few minutes. Gently scrub away the residue with a soft sponge. You can also use a melamine sponge to clean without damaging the ceramic non-stick coating.

What Is Thermolon?

Thermolon is GreenPan’s patented ceramic non-stick coating. It’s a silicon-based solution that’s applied to the body of the pan.

The ceramic is turned into a sprayable solution using a technique called Sol-Gel. The spray is applied to the interior of anodized aluminum cookware and then cured in the oven to create a durable, non-stick ceramic pan.

Thermolon was introduced to the cookware market in 2007. It contains no PFAs (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), lead, or cadmium. It also contains no PFOA (perfluorooctanoic acid), but that has been phased out of use in U.S. cookware for almost a decade.

Even though some PFAs are still allowable in cookware according to the US FDA, many companies advertise their cookware as PFA-free. GreenPan is not unique in avoiding PFAs.

While some ceramic coatings still contain PTFE (i.e., Teflon), GreenPan’s Thermolon is PTFE-free.

Although research suggests that using Teflon at normal temperatures is harmless, it can release toxic fumes at super-high temperatures. These fumes are lethal to birds and may cause flu-like symptoms in humans. If you want to avoid PTFE (and harming our feathered friends), GreenPan is a safe choice.

There is some debate over the safety of ceramic nonstick coatings. Specifically, GreenPan has been named in a class-action lawsuit over the toxicity of the Thermolon coating.

Is GreenPan Induction-Compatible?

Many GreenPan cookware collections are not induction-compatible, but the Valencia Pro collection is. If you have an induction cooktop, the Valencia Pro set is your best option.

Is GreenPan Oven-Safe Cookware? Final Thoughts

If you’re looking for oven-safe cookware, GreenPan pans fit the bill. For the best overall performance and versatility, I would go with the GreenPan Valencia Pro Cookware Set. These pots and pans are oven-safe to 600°F (315°C) and work with any stovetop, including induction.

If you’re on a budget, you might consider GreenPan Lima. It’s not induction-compatible, but it’s oven-safe and a great value pick.
